Why AI Won’t Make You an Overnight Millionaire—But Can Help You Get There
You probably clicked on this blog post hoping for a quick way to make money. Well, I hate to break it to you, but you’ll never find a world where that’s possible. “There will never, ever, ever be a time when you can just tell a bunch of robots to go make you money while you sit back with your poor habits,” as the wise old internet saying goes. The reality is, AI hasn’t changed the fundamentals of business.
AI has sped up processes, but you still need traffic, content, promotions, a valuable offer, a customer avatar, a landing page, and copywriting skills. And, of course, you need to understand how to orchestrate all these elements together. So, no, this isn’t about some fancy new AI business model that absolves you from learning every business principle.
The Only Thing AI Has Changed
The cool part? I enjoy writing content and books. My new book, “Purpose and Profit,” is short, feels good in the hand, and gives you a quick read on transforming your relationship with money. It’s the kind of book you can breeze through in a few seconds, yet it encapsulates a lot of my life’s work and philosophy. If you like my videos, you’ll probably benefit from it.
People often tell me I’m great at illustrating ideas but not so much at tutorials. Even though this post is a tutorial, I’ll do my best. I don’t enjoy marketing, market research, or generating headlines, even though I’m good at it. I prefer writing. When you don’t want something in business and have the resources, you should outsource it. And now, almost everyone has those resources—it’s called AI.
AI can be your silent partner, helping you manage tasks that might otherwise feel overwhelming. Imagine having a virtual assistant that can sort through data, analyze market trends, and even suggest strategies based on the latest digital insights. While AI doesn’t replace the need for human intuition and creativity, it certainly complements it. This tool can save you countless hours, allowing you to focus more on creative and strategic aspects of your business.
AI Isn’t a Natural Marketer
AI isn’t a good writer or marketer out of the box. It’s a decent writer by general standards, but not by the specific standards that actually get results. If everyone could just type “write me a book” or “write me a landing page” into AI, they’d all do it. So, you still need a way to stand out.
AI has a swath of general information from the internet, but it needs specific prompts or workflows to be truly effective. If you want to make money—be it a million dollars or $100,000—you either need to become extremely good at marketing and everything involved in the money-making process, or you need to find someone who is and use their system with AI.
In this regard, AI is like a Swiss Army knife. It has many tools embedded within it, but unless you know which tool to use and how to use it, you won’t be able to achieve the results you desire. AI can assist you in crafting marketing strategies, but it won’t automatically know your brand’s voice or your customer’s needs. You need to tailor it, refine your prompts, and integrate AI insights with your unique brand strategy.
How to Make a Million Dollars
Let’s break down a realistic path to a million dollars a year. A million divided by 12 is $83,333 per month. Divide that by 30 days, and you need to make $2,777 per day. Of course, this can be split up with highs and lows throughout the month.
There are a few ways to do that: you can sell 18 $150 products a day, sell 111 $25 subscriptions a day, land a $5,000 client every other day, or a $10,000 client every four days. If you go the client route, you might need a team or productize the service at some point.
Each of these paths requires a specific approach. Selling products necessitates a strong e-commerce strategy, an understanding of supply chain logistics, and effective customer service. Subscriptions, on the other hand, demand a focus on customer retention and continuous value delivery. Landing high-ticket clients involves building a reputation and trust, often requiring a personal touch and deep industry expertise.
Understanding Traffic
If you go the product or subscription route, you’ll need a lot of traffic. With a 2.5% conversion rate on a landing page, you need 720 visitors a day to make 18 sales on a $150 product. So, where do those 720 people come from? Social media, ads, SEO, or influencer marketing.
If you’re skilled at social media, you can get 10,000 to 50,000 views per YouTube video and 500,000 to 1 million impressions on social media per month. That’s not as daunting as it sounds once you start gaining traction.
Building traffic isn’t just about numbers; it’s also about quality. You want engaged visitors who are genuinely interested in what you offer. This is where AI can be a game-changer. It can analyze your audience’s behavior, help you understand what content resonates, and even suggest the best times to post for maximum engagement.
Using AI to Your Advantage
AI can create better customer avatars, offers, landing pages, and sales copy than 99% of creators and businesses. But first, you need a personal brand strategy focused on social media because it’s free and arguably the best source of traffic.
I’ve created an AI system that can help you with this, and it’s available on a platform called Cortex. It has everything you need to make it easy for you, from generating content ideas to creating landing pages. This is why I’m creating this post—to sell you on my own product, which is free to use unless you want to go hard with AI.
AI’s true power lies in its ability to augment human capabilities. By leveraging AI, you can gain a deeper understanding of market dynamics, predict consumer behavior, and personalize your marketing efforts. This doesn’t replace the need for human insight but enhances it, allowing you to make data-driven decisions that are more likely to succeed.
So, enjoy the journey, and remember: AI is a tool, not a magic bullet. If you enjoyed this post, like and subscribe for more AI content. And remember, “Rome wasn’t built in a day, but they were laying bricks every hour.”
